It started with a drawer full of abandoned dog gear.
Every dog owner has one: the harness that rubbed, the puzzle toy that lasted a single afternoon, the "indestructible" chew that wasn't. Five stars on the listing, no help at all in your living room.
The reviews were inflated. The "vet approved" badge was meaningless. The product was designed for a warehouse shelf, not for a real dog in a real home.
WoofTested is the dog-side sibling of a pet review brand we built on one idea: score products with a disclosed, structured rubric, publish the failures, and never take money for a score. Dog owners kept asking for the same thing, so here we are.
Our Fit Analysis synthesizes spec analysis, owner reviews across sources, and veterinary and behaviorist literature into one scorecard per product. It is research scoring, not an in-home lab test, and we say so on every page. If a product wouldn't genuinely work for dogs, it doesn't get recommended.
What we believe
The dog's experience is the deciding vote
If the evidence says dogs won't use it, or that it could hurt or frighten them, we don't recommend it. No exceptions, no overrides, no "but the commission is great."
Transparency builds trust
Every recommendation has a public scorecard. We publish our scoring rubric, our reasoning, and the products that failed. If you want to know why we recommend something, the numbers are right there.
Fewer picks, higher standards
We'd rather stand behind a handful of recommendations than list 300 products we haven't scored. Our list stays short on purpose.
